Next thing you know, your carpet or rug isn’t looking fresh and clean anymore. You might think you will need to hire a professional cleaner or purchase a Hoover machine to get it spotless again. However, you can clean it yourself. Although this is a cheaper route, you might not know the best way to clean your carpet. Should you use shampoo or an alternative dirt remover? What materials will you need to get the job done? Should the cleaning solution be foaming or be able to effortlessly spray onto the carpet? How do you even make a homemade carpet stain remover? If you don’t know how to carpet clean yourself or need a checklist for guidance, follow these simple directions for easy DIY carpet cleaning without a machine.

Before we start you should try to have all the ingredients and bottles ready so we get everything organized, like we do here:
Step 1: Take 1 full scoop of [easyazon_link identifier=”B01DUUBZY6″ locale=”US” tag=”51883236-20″ popups=”y”]Oxi Cleaning With Odor Blasters[/easyazon_link] and put it in the jug before you put any other liquid into it.
Step 2: Take [easyazon_link identifier=”B00UEXGTS0″ locale=”US” nw=”y” tag=”51883236-20″ cart=”y” localize=”y” popups=”y”]Ajax Tropical Lime Twist[/easyazon_link] and we use it in this case because it smells good, and its a real grease cutter. So we use from 2-4 table spoons depending on how bad your carpet really is.
Step 3: In the video we are using 70% rubbing alcohol, but we just found you a [easyazon_link identifier=”B001B5JT8C” locale=”US” nw=”y” tag=”51883236-20″ cart=”y” localize=”y” popups=”y”]99% Rubbing Alcohol[/easyazon_link]. But any 70% rubbing Alcohol or more will do. And we need about 3 table spoons in the can.
Step 4: We use [easyazon_link identifier=”B000093INI” locale=”US” nw=”y” tag=”51883236-20″ cart=”y” localize=”y” popups=”y”]Window Cleaner With Ammonia[/easyazon_link]. Any window cleaner will work, just make sure the window cleaner have ammonia in it. And we need about 6 tablespoons with that in the can.
Step 5: The last step we need now is to fill the can with hot water. Before we start working on the carpet.
Step 6: Make a little hole in the cap of the can. So that you can just flood the carpet. You cannot use an ordinary spray, you need to flood the carpet. But don’t worry the carpet will dry out.

Step 8: Flood the carpet with the cleaning water you made.
Step 9: Start brushing the carpet. And you will start to see the filthy greasy water that once was in your carpet. Remove the water, with a water extractor or a towel. Just remember that your towel shouldn’t be the most valueable one.
